Execution

The execution module supports scientists conducting experiments, breaking the workload down into a set of tasks and enabling access to data for authoring and publishing reports.

Planning and Scheduling - planning complex investigations that involve multiple scientists and various laboratories and equipment is a major challenge. The execution module allows scientists to plan and schedule their work across multiple groups and laboratories, coordinating tasks and centralising data in once place. This provides a key source of corporate knowledge which can be extracted to feed data warehouses and manage the data life cycle.

Reports - results are accessible as standard linear reports and pivoted cross tab reports from anywhere in the organisation. Scientists have ready access to operational reports for quality control purposes and analytical reports for understanding trends in data and formulating conclusions. These reports can be combined with observations and discussion to form descriptive reports such as study reports used by project teams in decision making. Project teams can directly access analytical reports containing results and descriptive reports from completed requests for work, providing full tracking from request to fulfilment.

Productivity - the execution module facilitates increases in efficiency by reducing the time to deliver results and providing tracking of scientific activity in a transparent environment that allows effective management of the over process of research.

BioRails helps laboratory managers to plan and schedule activities, distributing work across teams and coordinating scientists and resources to optimise productivity.
